The Göldo Downholder (MFG# TGDDH) is a guide bar to be used with top-mounted tremolo systems. Its purpose is to give the strings a proper break angle with the correct amount of pressure as they go from the trem to the bridge. Without a proper break angle, the strings are more prone to buzzing and sympathetic noises. The way it works is easy! The Downholder simply mounts into the existing threaded bushings of the stop tailpiece and allows for the installation of a larger trem system that does not have a retaining bar such as a Göldo G3 or Bigsby® B3. The mounting studs are supplied in both metric and US thread sizes and the axle is simply pushed loosely through the mounting holes of the studs and then locked into position with set screws, allowing it to work with virtually any guitar using a stop tailpiece.
